Overview
Partner Groups allow you to segment similar partner accounts based on your specified criteria. They have incredible flexibility.
Below you will see examples of Partner Group Rules broken down by common Rule Objects or complex settings that you may find useful when creating your own Partner Groups.

Rules based on Partner Information
If you're configuring any rules to filter on Partner information, you can base them on two types of metadata:
- Partner Fields - data from Partner Explorer > Profile in Unifyr One Admin
- Partner Profile - data from Settings > Company Profile in the partner portal
For more information, see Add Partner Groups.
Rules based on User Information
As well looking at partner properties, you can create a Partner Group based on individual user characteristics/actions. You use additional User Segmentation Rules, on top of a Partner Group classification, to further refine that group. Perhaps you want to give collateral to users who have either accomplished something in portal, or are a specific user role, or both.
For example, you can segment a Partner Group to only include those users who have completed a particular training course in the LMS.
Users from Bronze Tier Partners who are CT-Series product certified
Rules based on Logins
You can create your Partner Groups based on the logins to the Unifyr One portal made by your partners or their users. This can help you identify your most, and least, engaged partners, and tailor content or communications to them.
Partners where no users have logged in
Use a Partner Segmentation Rule to base a rule on the number of logins made by each partner.
Note: The Users having logged in event counts distinct login events by any user, it's not a count of unique users.
Users from North American partners that haven't logged in in the last 60 days
Use a User Segmentation Rule to target individual partner users based on their number of logins.
Rules based on Language
You may want to create Partner Groups that you can use to filter language-specific content to your partners. There are a few rules that can achieve this. In the below example, we will be creating a Partner Group Rule for U.S. English-speaking partners in two possible ways:
Partner country is United States or United States Minor Outlying Islands
Partners whose language is U.S. English
Rules based on Exclusions
You may want to create a Partner Group that includes partners that are NOT part of an existing group. Below are a some sample Partner Group Rules based on this.
Partners who have closed at least $50000 in deals in 2025 AND are NOT a Gold Partner
Rules based on Training
Below are some sample Partner Group Rules based on training.
Partner accounts where at least one user has completed our C Series Product Certification
Partner accounts where at least 2 users have completed one or more certifications
A partner account will be included in this Partner Group if they have users who have completed C Series Product Certification, F Series Product Certification, and/or M Series Product Certification.
Rules based on Deals
Below are some sample Partner Group Rules based on deals.
Partners who have won less than $5000 in deals
Partners who have approved deals that will close in the next 30 days
Partners who won less than $50000 in deals in 2025
Partners who have never registered a deal
Partners who have at least 10 pending deals
Rules based on Custom Data
Suppliers can use Custom Objects to define custom information types that aren't available in Unifyr One as a default, such as customer case studies, partner Q&As, requests for demo units, etc. Partners and suppliers then use forms to enter instances of the custom information. You can set up Partner Group Rules based on those Custom Objects in Unifyr One. For example, a supplier might provide Custom Objects that represent customer case studies and warranty registrations. You could create Partner Group rules that identify partners who have submitted at least one customer case study, or who have a warranty with a specific provider.
For more information about Custom Objects, see Custom Objects.
You can add a rule based on the object itself (for example, Case Studies) or on one of the fields in the object (for example, the Warranty Provider field in Warranty Registrations).
Please Note: This information is for guidance only. It is expected that every site has different custom data requirements. Here we're assuming that a supplier is collecting Case Study and Warranty Registration information.
Rules based on a Custom Object (custom information type)
If you choose the object (custom information type) itself, the rule can only be based on the number of submissions of the custom information type the partner has made (a quantitative rule, for example at least 1 case study submitted).
In this example, the Custom Object is named Case Studies.
Rules based on a field/value in a Custom Object
If you choose a field in a Custom Object, you can configure a rule based on the values of the field that have been submitted (a qualitative rule).
Note: A field from a Custom Object is denoted with a bullet in the drop down menu for the rule editor.
In this example, the Custom Object is named Warranty Registration. The object includes these fields:
- Customer Company Name
- Customer Contact Email
- Customer Contact Full Name
- Customer Contact Phone
- Related Order #
- Warranty Provider
- Warranty Term Months
