- Navigate to > Settings > Forms & Fields > MDF > Custom Fields.
- Click Create Field.

Provide the following information for the new Custom Field:
Parameter Type Description Internal Name Text The internal name / permanent identifier for this MDF field. The name should be unique and comply with any internal naming conventions you have in place.
This name can only include letters, numbers, spaces, and underscores.
The Internal Name can't be changed once you've created the field.
Type Dropdown Specify the type of field. The choice you make here may add additional configuration options. For example, if you select the checkbox type, you will be prompted to provide values for the options shown to users.
Options are text, text area, number, date, checkbox (can select more than one), radio (select one), select (select one), and multi-select (can select more than one).

The Type can't be changed once you've created the field.
Display Name Text The name that will display to partners in the portal. You can edit this later if needed. This field supports up to 200 characters. Tool Tip Text [Optional] Provide a tooltip for the field. Tooltips are a simple but effective way to give context and guidance about the field with minimum screen real estate.
This field supports text up to 255 characters.

- the user sees the tooltip when hovering over the icon.
Help Text Text [Optional] Provide help text for the field. Help text can provide instructions, guidance or links to other resources for users completing the field.
Use the rich text editor to provide formatted text, which can include links, lists, tables, quotes, and other information.
There is no limit to the amount of content you can add to this field. Be aware of page layout and website design guidelines when deciding what to include.
The help text displays below the field.
Data Validation Dropdown [Optional] For custom MDF fields of type Text and Text Area
Configure a rule against which to validate data entered into this field

Default Value Text [Optional] For custom fields of type Text, Text Area, Number, and Date
Provide a default value. This field will be automatically set to this value until it is changed.
Field Values Text [Optional] For custom fields of type Checkbox, Radio, Select, and Multiselect
Enter the options that can be selected for this field.
You can also make one or more of the field values the default value, by enabling the Make Default option for the value. The field will be automatically set to this default value until the user changes it.
Drag and drop the values into the order you want them to be displayed in the field.
- Click Save.
