When you create a translation of the portal footer, the translated version will pre-populate with a copy of the fields and layout of the original.
Note
If subsequent changes are made to the original footer, they will NOT be propagated to the translated versions and you will need to manually recreate them to preserve consistency.
- Navigate to Partner Portal > Site Configuration.
- Select Settings.
- Go to the Footer tab in the left hand navigation.
-
In the detail view, click Translations to open a dropdown list of languages.
Note
If your portal already has a footer, and you want to add translations for the first time, save the footer to enable the Translations option.
There is a checkmark beside any language for which a translation of the page has already been created. If only English is ticked, no translations currently exist.
-
To copy the footer for a new language, select an unchecked language. A copy of the footer is created with the title reflecting the new language, e.g. Footer: German. The content is in English.
Note: If you subscribe to our Automatic Translations feature (with Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond subscriptions), you can choose how you want to create the new version of the footer - select one of these options:
- Use the template - Copy the English version as the template for the non-English one, and add the translations yourself.
- Translate - have the content auto-translated by Unifyr One. You can edit the translation after they’ve been done this way, if required.
- Add the translated content to the footer.
- Click Save.
[With Automatic Translations enabled] If you want to provide a new translation of the footer at a later date, select the required language in the Translations drop down list. Then go back into the Translations list and click Retranslate page. You can then provide the new translation following the usual steps. In this example, the French translation for the footer is being redone.
