Permission Required
Automatic Page Translations is available to Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond customers. Submit a request to your Unifyr One team if you're interested in implementing this feature.
Overview
Automatic Page Translations in Unifyr One is an automation tool that uses a third-party translator to auto-translate your custom page content. This tool saves your team time and resources and is especially helpful for teams that do not have in-house translators or native speakers to translate content for their supported languages, and who would otherwise not be able to support a multi-language partner program.
The feature enables on-the-fly translation of your custom pages in the partner portal. Partners can select their preferred language in their partner portal and the text on the available custom pages will automatically translate for them.
This option needs to be enabled for your partner portal - see the Enabling On-The-Fly Translations of Custom Pages section of this article.
Automatic Page Translations supports the same languages as our standard navigation translations.
Note
This feature can be used to translate custom pages. It is separate from our standard translations for the partner portal, which include the translation of default navigation items, tooltips, and Feature Pages. For more information, see Translate Portal Navigation and Feature Pages.
Additional Details
- If you have built a translated custom page in Unifyr One Admin, and have also enabled on-the-fly translations of custom pages, the Automatic Page Translations version will be overridden by your own page translation. Your translated custom page will be displayed in the portal and any edits will need to be managed by your team.
-
The on-the-fly translation feature does not translate custom content that pulls into a custom page via Dynamic Content widgets. You must maintain translations of these items in Unifyr One Admin and filter their availability to partners so the correct language version is displayed to partners in the custom page:
- For the Portal Posts widget - you can use tags to filter your Portal Posts by language so that only the relevant ones display. For more information, see About Tags.
- For other Dynamic Content widgets - you can filter the row in which the widget appears with Display Conditions, to limit access to non-translated content. For more information, see Add Display Conditions for Content.
For more information about using Dynamic Content widgets, see Add Dynamic Content.
- If you have images that include text embedded on a custom page, they will not be translated by the on-the-fly translation feature. You will need to create your own translated custom page and include translated images.
Before You Begin
Configure the languages that your partner portal supports. For more information, see Branding, Languages, and Other Settings for your Partner Portal.
This feature provides machine-translated content. For this reason, we recommend that you have a review process in place for your supported languages, either with an internal team member or with a partner that is a native speaker of the supported language.
When you’ve enabled on-the-fly translation:
- To view on-the-fly translations of custom pages, you will need to log into the partner portal and change to the language you want to review. Go to
> Language, change to the required language, then review the auto-translated custom page.
- If you want to edit a translated custom page, you will need to build your own translated custom page.
Enabling On-The-Fly Translations of Custom Pages
To enable on-the-fly translations of custom pages:
- If your contract includes the Automatic Page Translations feature (Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond subscriptions), submit a request to your Unifyr One team to have it enabled on your partner portal.
- Go to Partner Portal > Site Configuration > Settings > Site Details.
-
Under Auto Page Translation, enable the Automatically translate custom pages when viewed on the portal option.
This setting is only available when the Automatic Page Translations feature is enabled.
