Translating a Custom Page

When you create a translation for a custom page, the translated version will pre-populate with a copy of the fields, content, and layout of the original. The original page must be in English.

Note

If subsequent changes are made to the original English page, they will NOT be propagated to the translated versions. You must manually update the translations in each required language to preserve consistency.

  1. Navigate to Partner PortalCustom Pages.
  2. Click on the name of the page you want to translate.
  3. Click the dropdown at the top of the page, to open a list of languages. There is a checkmark beside any language for which a translation of the page has already been created. If you only see English checked, no translations for other languages have been created.

  4. To copy this page for a new language, select an unchecked language.

If a translation for the selected language has been deleted previously, you're asked to confirm if you want to restore the deleted translation. Click Yes to restore the last saved version of the page. Click No to start a completely new translation.

A copy of the page is created, showing the new language, e.g. German. The content is in English.

Note: If you subscribe to our Automatic Translations feature (with Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond subscriptions), you can choose how you want to create the new version of the page - select one of these options:

    • Use the template - Copy the English version as the template for the non-English one, and add the translations yourself.
    • Translate - have the content auto-translated by Unifyr One. You can edit the translation after they’ve been done this way, if required.

  5. Translate the content of the page as required. You can also change the layout/styling of language versions of a page, if required.
  6. Click Save.

[With Automatic Translations enabled] If you want to provide a new translation of the page at a later date, select the required language in the Translations drop down list. Then go back into the Translations list and click Retranslate post. You can then provide the new translation following the usual steps. In this example, the French translation for the page is being redone.
