17 Dec - Update to Collateral Library

Find your expired assets

It’s now easier to find assets that are about to expire, or have already expired, in the Collateral Library. The Expired filter now provides options for you to filter for content that is expired, or that will expire in the next 7, 30, or 90 days.

10 Dec - Update to Custom Objects

Partners can customize their Custom Objects list view

It's now possible for your partners to customize how they view lists of custom information (provided with the Custom Objects feature). Previously, you as the supplier would customize the partner's view of the list in ZiftONE Admin and publish it to the partners - now each user in a partner account can manage their own view in the portal.

Previously:

You used the Configure Listing option for the form that presents the Custom Object (custom information type) to your partners.

admin_custom_objects_configure_listing.png

This option has now been removed.

Now:

Partners see a Configure Columns button for a Custom Object in the portal.

They click on the button to open a Column Configuration window, where they can drag and drop the columns they want to see in their list view, and move them around.

portal_custom_object_configure_columns.png

The Configure Columns option is available in two places in the portal:

  • In the Custom Object Listing feature page, which displays a single Custom Object

    portal_custom_object_configure_columns_feature_page.png

  • In a deal, when you've included Custom Objects of type Deal

    portal_custom_object_configure_columns_deal.png

Here's an overview, in a Custom Object Listing feature page (named Case Study here):

03 Dec - Update to Collateral Library

Thumbnail preview for library assets

We've added a thumbnail preview option to assets in the Collateral Library. Hover over the icon for a Library Asset or an On-Demand Asset and you'll see its thumbnail pop up.

Key Benefit: You no longer have to click into each of your assets to confirm you're looking at the right one.

admin_collateral_thumbnail_preview.gif

Note: The preview will show for assets that have a thumbnail image available. For information about including a thumbnail, see Add Content to the Collateral Library.

26 Nov - Update to Integrations

New location for Blendr

The Blendr app has moved to this location in ZiftONE Admin: Settings > Integrations.

The app was previously listed under Automations in the ZiftONE toolbar. If you don't have any other automation configured, that icon will no longer be visible.

19 Nov - Updates to Deals, Collateral Library, and Social Media

Display Name for Deal Types

It's now possible to add a Display Name for a Deal Type, which will display to your partner users when they're creating/viewing/editing deals in your partner portal. The existing Internal Name is still retained for your reference.

Key Benefit: You can use different Deal Type references on the portal to those you use internally in ZiftONE Admin. In turn, this means you can simplify your partners' experience when they only have access to a subset of your Deal Types.

Currently, to differentiate between Deal Types, you have to use a unique name for every type, even if they share some characteristics or uses.

For example, to provide Deal Types to support multiple business areas (Mobile and Desktop) and partner types (Direct and Reseller) you might add these:

  • Direct - Mobile (name in Z1 Admin and in portal)
  • Direct - Desktop (name in Z1 Admin and in portal)
  • Reseller - Mobile (name in Z1 Admin and in portal)
  • Reseller - Desktop (name in Z1 Admin and in portal)

This could add unnecessary complexity for your partners, depending on how you provide Deal Types to them.

Now, using Display Name and Internal Name, you still differentiate the types for you with the Internal Name, but the partners can have a different experience when choosing a type.

In the same scenario, you can use a duplicate Deal Type for your different partner types (Display Name) while maintaining your differentiation between types with their Internal Name:

  • Mobile (portal name shown to direct sellers) and Direct - Mobile (name in Z1 Admin)
  • Desktop (portal name shown to direct sellers) and Direct - Desktop (name in Z1 Admin)
  • Mobile (portal name shown to resellers) and Reseller - Mobile (name in Z1 Admin)
  • Desktop (portal name shown to resellers) and Reseller - Desktop (name in Z1 Admin)

admin_deal_type_create.png

Existing Deal Types are updated with a Display Name that is the same as their Internal Name (note: Internal Name was previously named Name). You can edit them to take advantage of the Display Name, if required.

Internal Name is still used internally in ZiftONE - Deals listing/filters, Deal details, Partner Group rules, etc.

Configure your display of the Collateral Library

You can now select which columns to display in the Collateral Library listing. The columns are based on standard properties (Name, Author, Last Modified, etc.) and the tags configured for the two content types.

Key Benefit: You can set up the list to give you a better overview of your assets, without needing to open individual items.

admin_collateral_library_column_config.png

Drag columns between Available Columns and Selected Columns to set up your Collateral Library view as you want. Selected Columns lists the columns that are visible in the view - reorder the columns in Selected Columns by dragging and dropping them.

Retirement of WeChat

It's becoming increasingly difficult for ZiftONE to support the WeChat platform, so we've made the decision to no longer provide WeChat as an option for new social content.

We've made these updates in this release:

Z1 Admin:

  • Removed the WeChat option when creating social posts
  • Removed the WeChat option when uploading multiple social posts in the Import Social Posts page

Portal:

  • Removed WeChat from the Add Account area of the Social Settings page

Note: existing WeChat accounts and posts are not affected by this change.

12 Nov - Update to Deals in portal

See Account details when viewing a Deal

Your partners can now access the details of the Account that is attached to a Deal. This is especially useful for co-selling partners who may need this information to be able to accept the Deal.

When the partner views a Deal, a new View link is available next to the Account name. Clicking the link opens the Account details in read-only mode.

portal_deal_details_view_account_info.png

05 Nov - New Custom Partner User Fields and Updates to Partner Groups and Portal Sessions/Timeouts

Manage custom Partner User information

You can now create and use your own fields to capture custom information about the individual users in your partners’ accounts. This means that you can capture any data you want about them, in addition to the basic information such as name and email address that ZiftONE supports as a default. For example, you may want to note the preferred communication language for each user, or their working hours. When you or your partner creates users in their partner account, these fields are made available for completion.

Key Benefit: You have full flexibility on the information you capture and store about your partners. This makes the profile you hold about them extremely powerful and useful. It can also help you communicate with your partners in the most effective way - for example, you can create a Partner Group based on this custom information.

You create the custom fields for partner user information in Settings > Forms & Fields in ZiftONE Admin, in the same way as the other custom field types (for partner, deal. lead, etc. information).

admin_custom_fields_partner_user.png

For more information, see Custom Fields.

You can use ZiftONE’s Custom Forms feature to add the fields to the form you or your partners use to create or edit users. You can add the fields to the forms, define what type of information they should contain, make them mandatory/optional, define the conditions under which they should be shown, and so on, in the same way as other custom field types.

For more information, see Form Configuration.

Custom Partner User fields as shown for a user in ZiftONE Admin Partner Explorer:

admin_custom_fields_partner_user_user_form.png

And in the partner portal:

portal_custom_fields_partner_user.png

You can also sync the custom partner user fields with your CRM integration if required.

Create Partner Group based on user logins

You can now create a Partner Group based on individual user login events - for example, users that have logged at least/less than X times, or users that have not logged in at all.

Create a Partner Group as usual, then add a User Segmentation Rule based on User Events > User Login.

admin_partner_group_user_login.png

Improved handling of session timeout in portal

We’ve made improvements to the way ZiftONE handles timeout of user sessions on the portal. A user is now automatically redirected to the portal login page when their session expires, rather than receiving an error when they attempt to use an expired session.

If a portal is using SSO-based login, the user goes back to the SSO login page.

29 Oct - Updates to Accounts listing, Social Posts listing, and Partner Events and Portal Posts in portal

Filter accounts by Country or Partner

More filters have been added to the Leads & Deals > Accounts listing, to make it easier for you to find the accounts you need and identify those of which a particular partner has visibility:

  • Country

    admin_accounts_filter_country.png

  • Partner - note: accounts visible to All Partners are also listed when a partner is selected, in addition to that are assigned to the specific partner

    admin_accounts_filter_partner.png

Find if social posts include tags

It's now possible to quickly find out whether your social posts have been identified with tags. The new filter Has Filter Tags in the Partner Marketing > Social Media > Social Posts page allows you to list which posts include tags (choose Yes) and which ones don't (choose No).

admin_social_posts_filter_tags.png

Dates in portal displayed in partner's language

If a partner views a translated version of your partner portal, dates of items in these pages are now shown in their nominated language:

  • Partner Events

    portal_partner_events_date_translation.png

  • Portal Posts

    portal_posts_date_translation.png

22 Oct - Updates to Emails & Popups and Deal Registration

Merge tags in To-Partner Communications

Merge tags (content placeholders) are now available when creating content for to-partner communications (partner emails and portal popups).

admin_tpc_merge_tags.png

Including these tags in content or HTML blocks in emails/popups allows pieces of information such as First and Last Name, Company name, Custom Fields and Partner ID to be populated dynamically when the communication is sent/viewed.

admin_tpc_merge_tags_use.png

Malaysian Ringgit added as Deal Registration currency

Deal Registration now supports the currency Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Your administrator can enable the currency in   > Advanced > Application Settings > Deal Currencies to allow you or your Malaysian partners to register deals in that currency.

15 Oct - Updates to Partner Groups

User Segmentation Rules in Partner Groups

You can now add User Segmentation Rules in a Partner Group to further filter the list of users in the Partner Group. This will help you define user sets in a much more granular way.

Key Benefit: You can use additional rules, on top of Partner Group classifications, to segment specific content or views to certain users. Perhaps you want to give collateral to users who have either accomplished something in portal, or are a specific user role, or both.

For example:

  • You’ve created content and want to segment specific assets to users who have registered 5 deals.
  • You want to segment content to all sales reps who are located in North America.
  • You want to target a feature page to users who've collected over 50 achievement points.

These new areas now appear when creating a Partner Group:

  • User Segmentation Rules field

Provides menus with which you define the additional rules to pick up a subset of users that are members of the Partner Group you’re creating.

Note also that the existing Rules field, for Partner Group rules, is now named Partner Segmentation Rules.

    admin_partner_group_user_segmentation_rules.png

  • Matching Users tab

Lists the users from the matching Partner Groups who also match the additional user rules.

    admin_partner_group_matching_users.png

There is also a new column Users in the Partner Group list view.

The column gives the number of users from the matching Partner Groups who also match the additional user rules.

admin_partner_group_users.png

The ability to apply User Rules to further filter Partner Groups is also available for these objects:

  • Emails and Popups
  • Partner Events
  • User Achievements
  • Onboarding Plans
  • Certifications
  • Courses
  • Email Templates

The Advanced Rules window also shows the number of partners that match the partner rules, and the number of users from those partners that match when user rules have been applied.

admin_partner_group_advanced_user_rules.png

Existing Partner Groups that have User Restrictions (based on roles) as part of their configuration will remain as they are as a default.

To migrate the existing role based restrictions to new User Segmentation Rules, click Migrate restrictions. This will convert an existing restriction based on roles to a new user segmentation rule based on the roles. The migration also adds the Matching Users tab for the Partner Group, which lists all users that match the new rule.

For example - this is the Partner Group with the original User Restriction based on role:

admin_partner_group_old_user_restrictions.png

This is the Partner Group after migration, showing the new user segmentation rule and the list of matching users:

admin_partner_group_new_user_segmentation_rules.png

The Migrate restrictions option is available to users who have permission to edit Partner Groups.

Note: When selecting a Partner Group with User Segmentation Rules as the Visibility setting for a page or view in your site navigation, all the rules from the Partner Group will apply. Only users that match both the Partner Segmentation Rules AND the User Segmentation Rules will see the view/page.

08 Oct - Updates to Partner User accounts and Social Media

View partner users' Email Opt-In status

You can now check if a partner's users have opted in to receive emails from you. Open the partner in Partner Explorer and open the user in Users. You can see the Email Opt In field in the information box on the right hand side.

admin_partner_users_email_optin.png

You can also filter the list of users for the partner by the Email Opt In value.

admin_partner_users_email_optin_filter.png

Support for multiple Facebook logins/accounts

In response a change made by Facebook to account support, the way in which partners can link multiple Facebook accounts to a Zift login has changed.

When adding a new Facebook page, ZiftONE detects an active Facebook session and will automatically use that in ZiftONE. When the partner accesses the Social Settings page in the portal, and uses the Add Account > Facebook option to add a new account, there will be no response from the button as there is already a Facebook account connected.

To link a new Facebook account to the ZiftONE account, partners must log out of Facebook then return to ZiftONE to add the new Facebook account.

Partners no longer have the option to log in to different accounts from the Add Account screen.

Support for GIFs in social posts removed

We have removed support for GIFs (either direct upload or links to giphy.com) in Social Posts. The in-platform support was always limited and has caused some recent issues.

01 Oct - Updates to LMS Quizzes and Courses, Supplier Notifications, and Custom Partner Views

Allow users to review Quiz responses

When configuring a quiz, you can now specify that users can review their answers after completing it.

portal_quiz_results_graphic.png

They will see whether they answered the questions correctly or incorrectly but they don't see the correct answer for those they got wrong.

admin_quiz_results review.png

Enable the new setting Allow a user to review their answers after completing this quiz when setting up the quiz.

admin_quiz_review_answers.png

For more information about quizzes and learning management in general, see About Learning Management.

Create a Course with no modules

It's now possible to set up courses that contain no modules. This allows you to provide courses that have no specific training content (modules, quizzes, etc.) to be completed in the partner portal, and you confirm completion yourself.

For example, you may want to provide a classroom training course (a course linked to a Partner Event) which the partner completes by simply attending the training event.

You can confirm that the partner has completed a course with no modules in one of two ways:

    • Update the partner's progress in the Partner Management > Training Progress page
    • If the course is linked to a Partner Event, confirm a user's attendance of the event in the Attendees page of Partner Portal > Partner Events

For more information about courses and entering training progress, see About Leaning Management.

For information about Partner Events, see Partner Events.

Receive notifications for Deal Registrations

It's now possible for you to specify which users are notified when a partner submits a deal to you for approval from the partner portal.

Your administrator can go to Settings > Notifications and click the deal type. In the window, click the toggle next to the user(s) that should receive notifications.

admin_notifications_deal_reg.png

  • Notifications will be sent for pending deals of the selected type
  • Auto approval must be off for deals - only deals that need manual approval/rejection are included
  • Deals imported from Salesforce aren't currently covered

notification_deal_reg.png

For more information about notifications, see Supplier Notifications.

For information about Deal Registration, see About Deal Registration.

Receive notifications for Custom Object submissions

It's now possible for you to specify which users are notified when a partner creates a submission of a Custom Object (custom information type) in the partner portal.

Your administrator can go to Settings > Notifications and click the custom object. In the window, click the toggle next to the user(s) that should receive notifications.

admin_notifications_custom_objects.png

  • Notifications can be sent to users of role Administrator or Channel Account Manager
  • A notification is sent when a submission of the Custom Object is first made, not when it is updated, or approved/rejected
  • Notifications are not sent for submission of Custom Objects made in ZiftONE Admin (supplier created).

The text of the email depends on whether the submission should be approved by you (if the original Custom Object has Require Approval set).

If the submission needs approval:

notification_custom_objects_approval.png

If the submission is for review only:

notification_custom_objects_review.png

For more information about notifications, see Supplier Notifications.

For information about Custom Objects, see Custom Objects and About Custom Objects and Submissions.

Filter custom portal views with Advanced Partner Rules

You now have the option to add Advanced Partner Rules when creating a Custom View for your partner portal. This allows you to be more specific when delivering landing page content to your partners.

admin_portal_create_view_advanced.png

Clicking the Advanced option allows you to set rules based on partner properties or user roles, and see a list of partners that match the filters you've configured.

When you've added advanced partner rules, instead of a whole Partner Group, as your filter for the custom view, the view's entry in the Custom Partner Views listing shows the string Rules defined in the Partner Access column.

admin_portal_create_view_rules_defined.png

Open the view, click the pencil icon to edit it and see a summary of the rules.

admin_portal_create_view_view_details.png

For more information about creating advanced partner rules, see Use Ad-Hoc Partner Groups and Examples of Partner Group Rules.

24 Sep - Updates to tables in text content

Improved styling for tables in custom items

You can already add tables to text content when creating these objects:

  • Courses
  • Certifications
  • Partner Events
  • Help text for custom forms

We've added formatting to these tables so they look aligned and professional when viewed in your partner portal.

partner_events_table_styling.png

17 Sep - Updates to Leads pages, User Achievements, and Custom Objects

Create Lead option in Distributed Leads only

The Create Lead and Upload Leads options are now only available in the Distributed Leads page of ZiftONE Admin (Leads & Deals > Lead Distribution). They have been removed from these pages:

  • All Leads
  • Registered Leads

We've made this change to simplify the process of managing and distributing leads to your partners.

Enhanced training targets when building User Achievements

It's now possible to add requirements based on Course completion when building a User Achievement in ZiftONE Admin. You have these options:

  • Training + Course + Completed + name - the partner has completed a specific course
  • Training + Course + Completed (Count) + number - the partner has completed a set number of courses

admin_user_achievements_requirements_training.png

The rule/requirement can be made repeatable.

New display name for Custom Object dynamic content widget

The Custom Object dynamic content widget, when included in a custom page, includes the text Custom Object: in its title to clarify what's been added to the page.

10 Sep - New Custom Objects and updates to Lead/Deal Funnel creation for partners

Introducing Custom Objects

New Custom Objects allow you to collect and store information from your partners and create code-free data customization for your unique business needs. A Custom Object can be considered as a custom information type and you create the forms and fields you want completed for that type.

For example:

Custom Object = Case Studies

Custom Fields for the Case Studies information type - the Custom Object could include these:

  • Publications - multiselect
  • Customer Name - text
  • Customer Logo - image
  • Customer Consent - checkbox
  • Document Summary - rich text
  • Draft Document - file
  • Sharing Preference - radio
  • Publication Date - date

admin_custom_object_custom_fields.png

Forms created for the information type are provided to assist with the collection of the data you want:

  • Portal form - Partners can create and submit their instances of the information. Add the new Custom Object Listing feature page to your site navigation, or embed the Custom Object dynamic content widget in a custom page, to present a specific Custom Object in the partner portal as required, for example a Partner Q&A or an option to provide Case Studies. All instances submitted by the partner are listed in the feature page. You can also request that they are submitted to you for approval in ZiftONE Admin.
  • Admin form - You can create instances of the information on behalf of your partners in ZiftONE Admin. These will then appear in the portal for specified partners to view/use, in the Custom Object Listing feature page.

The forms can be customized to use any of the Custom Fields in place for the Custom Object. You can also make the fields required, or read-only, or specify that they should be displayed under certain conditions.

For example, the portal form that you provide to your partners for Case Studies might use all the available fields. You might want to just provide a subset of the fields for your admin users, by customizing the admin form to only include Customer Name, Customer Consent, Document Summary, and Sharing Preference.

You can manage as many Custom Objects as you need and decide which fields are collected for each information type they represent.

For more information, see Custom Objects.

Custom Object management is available in three areas in ZiftONE Admin:

  • Advanced Administration > Settings > Forms &  Fields > Custom Objects - manage custom objects, fields and forms here

    Create a custom object

Create custom fields for an object

Create submissions of an object (instances of the information type) and export a list of submissions

    admin_custom_object_list.png

For more information, see Custom Objects.

  • Partner Management > Custom Objects - create submissions of custom objects, keep a track of the submissions from your partners, and approve/reject them

    admin_custom_object_submissions_list.png

You can also export a list of submissions of the custom information from this page.

For more information, see About Custom Objects and Submissions.

  • Partner Management > Partner Explorer > partner

The Custom Objects available are listed in the left sidebar of the Partner account. Here you can view a list of submissions for each custom object made by that particular partner, and create ones on their behalf only.

    admin_custom_object_partner_explorer.png

You can create Partner Groups based on the custom information collected with Custom Objects. For more information, see Examples of Partner Group Rules.

A Custom Object can be presented to partners in the partner portal, so they can create and submit their instances of the custom information. Use the new Custom Object Listing feature page - in this example the page is named Case Study and is based on the Case Studies Custom Object:

portal_custom_object_listings.png

Each submission has a link that can be shared - this supports a collaborative view, review and edit of these pieces of information.

Custom Objects can be used to capture any kind of custom data from your partners. Using Custom Objects, ZiftONE also gives you the option to include custom information types in Deal details. A Custom Object of type Deal will be included in any Deals when viewed in your portal or in ZiftONE Admin. It’s shown as a section in the Deal, in the same way as line items are, and partner users can add submissions of the information as required. For example, you may want to maintain a history of the customer interactions made when securing the deal.

You can see the list of submissions of the custom data point made against a deal when you view it in Leads & Deals > Registered Deals.

portal_custom_object_deal_listing.png

The Custom Objects feature is available to all customers, but needs to be enabled. Contact your Zift CSM if you are interested in using this feature.

Default pull date when creating Lead/Deal funnels

When a partner creates a funnel to pull Lead or Deal information into ZiftONE from a Salesforce integration, as a default the funnel will sync in items that were created after the create date/time of the funnel. The partner has the option to change the date to pull in existing data that was created earlier in Salesforce.

27 Aug - New Partner Events

Provide Events for your Partners

ZiftONE now provides the option for you to manage/oversee in-person attendance events for your partners in ZiftONE. For example, you could provide a training session to onboard partners to your partner program, or to get them acquainted with your products.

Key Benefit: Whilst you provide details of the events, the partners can register for them (if applicable) and attend them, either at a physical location or remotely, and you will still get an overview about uptake and attendance.

With the Partner Events feature, you can manage in-person events in the dedicated Partner Portal > Partner Events area in ZiftONE Admin. Here you can:

  • Create a Partner Event - event description and date/time/location, registration requirement, content summary (can include links to Zoom/Webex meetings), links to courses in the ZiftONE LMS if required

If an event is linked to an LMS course, the course will be listed on a user’s Completed Courses page in the portal when you confirm that they attended the event.

  • View a list of Partner Events
  • Edit the template for registration confirmation emails

admin_partner_events.png

Once you’ve created an event, you can edit it and oversee its progress. Each event contains two tabs of information:

  • Details tab - Information about the event

You can carry out these actions there:

    • create / edit an event
    • publish / unpublish an event (make it available to partners on their portal)

    admin_partner_events_details.png

  • Attendees tab - List of attendees and their current status for the event (e.g. completed, attending)

You can carry out these actions there:

    • approve / reject potential attendees
    • add potential attendees - individually or via bulk import
    • remove potential attendees
    • confirm attendees' participation
    • export list of attendees

    admin_partner_events_attendees.png

A new feature page, Partner Events, is available. Add this page to your portal site configuration to provide the list of events to your partners. They can register for an event from here.

portal_partner_events.png

Email confirmation will be sent to users that register for an event. A customizable email template is provided, which provides calendar invitations for Google Calendar and Outlook as a default. Your administrator can access and update the template from the Partner Events page.

admin_partner_events_registration_confirmation_email_template.png

For more information about Partner Events, see Partner Events.

13 Aug

This release includes general improvements and bug fixes.

06 Aug - Update to My Profile

Username not displayed when editing My Profile

The Username field is no longer displayed when editing your profile in  > User > My Profile.

Key Benefit: It's not possible to have users with an email address that is different from their username. This is not an accepted use case and can cause unexpected results. The option to edit Username has been removed to prevent this scenario.

30 Jul - Update to Success Plans

Goal information for Success Plans in portal

The Goal Groups defined for Strategies/Success Plans are now shown when the Success Plan is viewed in portal.

Key Benefit: Partners have much more clarity when viewing their Success Plan in a structured way.

23 Jul

This release includes general improvements and bug fixes.

16 Jul - New options for Portal Footer

Footer Translations

You can now provide translations for the footer you display in your partner portal.

Key Benefit: Providing content in the preferred language of partners and prospective partners is a crucial factor in engaging with your partners and growing your channel program. By translating your partner portal into other languages, you ensure that partners can fully understand your content.

A new Translations option is available in the Footer area of Portal Settings. Go to Partner Portal > Site Configuration and choose Settings > Footer. Here you can choose the language(s) into which to translate the footer and provide the translated content.

Note

If your portal already has a footer, and you want to add translations, save the existing footer to enable the Translations option.

admin_portal_footer_translations.png

For more information, see Manage Site Configuration and Navigation and About Translations.

Change History for Footers

It’s now possible to provide and view details of modifications made to a custom portal footer. This information is helpful for identifying and correcting errors/issues with the footer configuration.

These options are available in the Settings > Footer area of Site Configuration

  • Leave a comment when saving updates

    admin_partner_portal_footer_change_comment.png

  • View a list of versions of the footer, plus the comments left by the user who made an update

Go to Options > View History.

09 Jul - Update to Leads & Deals page

Improved navigation for Leads

We have reorganised the Leads area of the Leads & Deals page and provided some new filtered views to help you navigate the list, view activity, and configure rules.

Key Benefit: The presentation of Leads information is much clearer and more intuitive. It is easier to find the Lead list you want, without always having to configure filters.

We have added a sidebar navigation to the list, where you can select options to access views based on common filter criteria:

  • All Leads
  • Distributed Leads
  • Lead Distribution Activity
  • Registered Leads
  • Lead Registration Rules

admin_leads_and_deals_sidebar.png

You can still also use the existing options to filter the list on Lead properties, and to configure Advanced Filters based on Partner Activity, Campaign Activity, Embedded Access Apps, and Integrations to further restrict what you see.

02 Jul - Update to Collateral Search widget

Content tag filter in Collateral Search widget

The Collateral Search dynamic content widget now supports filtering by specific values of content tags.

Key Benefit: Users can create portal pages that show defined subsets of collateral.

The filter is available for both Collateral Library items and Customizable Multimedia.

25 Jun - Changes to Leads & Opportunities page and Onboarding Plans

Rename of Leads & Opportunities menu item

The ZiftONE Admin menu option Leads & Opportunities has been renamed to Leads & Deals, to better reflect the content of the menu.

admin_leads_and_deals.png

Advanced filter option for Onboarding Plans

When creating Onboarding Plans for your partners in ZiftONE Admin, you can now configure advanced partner rules to define who has access to each plan. This gives you much more flexibility when deciding on the distribution. Use the Advanced option to set up your access rules, based on partner fields, user roles, or partner names.

admin_onboarding_plans_create_advanced_rules.png

The option to simply assign the plan to Partner Group(s) is still available.

For more information, see About Onboarding Partners.

18 Jun - Change to Partner User Roles

Rename of Sales Rep role

The standard partner user role Sales Rep has been renamed to Sales.

The default user roles for new accounts are named as follows in ZiftONE Admin:

  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Administrator

11 Jun - Changes to Tier Programs and new User Achievements

Improvements to Partner Tiers and Tier Programs

In Partner Management > Partners > Tier Programs in ZiftONE Admin, you can create Tier Programs for your partners that provide a clear framework for partner growth with assigned goals, and allow you and them to track their ongoing performance.

Key Benefit: Providing different partner tiers can be a powerful way to recognize and reward partners, provide a clear path for partner growth, motivate higher performance and improve partner engagement.

We’ve added a lot more configuration and tracking options to Partner Tier Program management in this release. With the new look Tier Programs page in ZiftONE Admin, you can now:

  1. Use a default list of Tiers for your Tier Program, or configure your own

    admin_tier_programs_tiers.png

  2. Add Goals (formerly known as Achievements) to the Tiers in a Tier Program as the achievements partners have to complete to progress, with rules to define how a Goal will be marked as met

    admin_tier_programs_goals.png

  3. Define the set of partners who are eligible for a Tier Program by assigning Partner Groups

    admin_tier_programs_partner_groups.png

  4. Control the options for movement of partners between Tiers (promotions and demotions)

    admin_tier_programs_tier_movement.png

  5. Have Tier membership processing done automatically or update Tiers manually (a partner’s Tier membership can change when they have completed specific action sets or through association of Tiers with Partner Groups)

    admin_tier_programs_tier_processing_schedule.png

  6. Invoke a one-off processing/update of Tier membership

    admin_tier_programs_reprocess_membership.png

  7. View dashboards that provide Progress and Tier Membership information for each of your partners

    admin_tier_programs_dashboards_progress.png

Tier Programs are displayed in the partner portal by adding the new Tier Program Summary widget to a custom page:

portal_tier_programs.png

Partners can see their current Tier status and view their progress towards the requirements of the Tiers in their program.

Note

Existing Tier Programs in ZiftONE Admin can be retained and used. Contact your Zift CSM if you are already working with Tier Programs.

For more information about Tier Programs, see About Partner Tiers and Tier Programs.

Introducing User Achievements

In Partner Management > Partners > User Achievements in ZiftONE Admin, you can create Achievements that your partners' users can complete individually and earn points for themselves, by completing specific criteria such as activating a campaign or closing a certain number of deals.

Some User Achievements can be achieved multiple times. This means a partner user can earn points each time they complete them. For example, if you have a User Achievement that is completed each time a certain campaign is activated, the partner user will earn points each time they activate that campaign in their partner user account.

Key Benefit: User Achievements are tangible accomplishments that you can create to keep your partner users engaged in the partner portal and give them guidance on the most valuable areas to focus on.

User Achievements are displayed in the partner portal by adding the new User Achievements Feature Page:

admin_user_achievements.png

Achievements in this page are color-coded so that users can see their progress at a glance - completed Achievements are shown in full color, while incomplete ones are grayed out.

You get news about a partner's Achievements when accessing these areas of their account in Partner Explorer:

  • Summary tab > Recent Activity
  • Summary tab > Recent Achievements Completed
  • Achievements tab

For more information about user-level Achievements, see About User Achievements.

04 Jun - Changes to Import Partners, Certificate Template management, and Accounts table
New Partner ID merge tags
Updates to portal for partners

Import Partners includes all partner properties

You can now include all partner properties, including custom fields, when creating Partner accounts in bulk from a CSV file in Partner Management > Partner Explorer > Import Partners. This ensures that all the information you originally captured is included in the Partner record in ZiftONE Admin (where previously, you could only include Company Name, Contact Name and Email Address).

You can download a sample CSV file that includes headings for all core and custom fields that are available on your Create Partner form, and use it for the import.

The Import Partner process itself has not changed.

ZiftONE validates the data that is imported, and indicates where there are errors - for example, missing value for a required field, incorrect value for a fixed value field, incorrect type of information provided, etc.

admin_import_partner_errors.png

Download/upload of LMS Certificate Templates

In Partner Management > Learning Management > Certificate Templates, you have the option to maintain templates for the certificates awarded to your partners when they complete a Certification during learning/training. As well as creating new templates in ZiftONE Admin, you can now download a template you've already created, make amendments to it and re-upload. This allows you to manage minor updates to the template without having to create an entirely new one, and minimizes the risk of the template being lost.

For information on managing certificate templates, see About Learning Management.

Include partner ID data with new merge tags

New merge tags (placeholders) for partner user IDs are now available. Having these tags available supports creation of custom content, such as web-to-lead forms, with the option to reference a partner. Including these tags in paragraphs or HTML blocks in custom pages/forms allows these pieces of information to be populated dynamically:

  • Partner ID (this is the Partner ID in ZiftONE)
  • SSO Company ID
  • Partner External ID (this is typically a Salesforce ID)
  • User ID (this is the User ID in ZiftONE)
  • SSO User ID
  • User External ID

Configure display of Accounts table

It's now possible to configure the columns displayed in the Accounts table (Leads & Opportunities > Accounts), so you can view the table in the way that suits your particular needs. Any custom fields you've included in your Account configuration can be used as columns, as well as the core ZiftONE fields.
These fields are visible as a default:

  • Account Name
  • State/Province
  • Partner Access
  • Account Type
  • Account Source
  • Status
  • Updated

Access the Column Configuration window by clicking the Column Configuration button, then drag and drop the fields between Available Fields (not in table) and Selected Fields (in table), and into the order you want.

Improved filtering of Deals for partners

Partners now have better options for filtering Deals in the Deals page of the partner portal. They can select filters based on some core ZiftONE fields, your custom Deal fields or your Deal Types (if you're using multiple types).

portal_deals_filter_deal_type.png

Partner Admin can't change notification settings for other users

The option for a partner admin user to change the notification preferences of their colleagues has been removed from the Settings > Notifications area of the partner portal. The Administrator can still add non-user email recipients.

28 May - Changes to Partner Filters and Registered Deals page

Improvements to display of Partner Filters

It’s now easier to view the details of complex Partner Filters in ZiftONE Admin. When creating a Partner Filter with multiple values or multiple criteria, these rules apply:

  • Multiple values for a single criterion - separated with an OR statement (one of the values must apply)
  • Multiple criteria for a single filter - separated with an AND statement (both/all criteria must apply)

For example, Region = EMEA OR APAC AND Partner Tier = Gold

The combining of the values and criteria is now clearly marked in Partner Filters summaries, allowing you to see how each setting must match for a Partner to be assigned an activity or content.

admin_partner_filters_operators.png

These areas of ZiftONE Admin have been updated:

  • Library Content > Collateral Library (Library Asset, On Demand Asset)
  • Library Content > Collateral Programs
  • Partner Marketing > Campaigns
  • Partner Marketing > Marketing Activities (Custom Activities, Social Media, Emails, Website Plugins, Programs, Multimedia)

For more information about creating Partner Filters, see Add Partner Filters.

External ID available for Registered Deals

The External Id column is now available for the Registered Deals listing. External Id is the identifier for the Deal pulled in from an external integration, if available. Having this information to hand can assist you in verifying information coming from the integration.

You can add the External Id column to the Registered Deals listing through Column Configuration. You can also sort deals by External Id and copy the value to use elsewhere.

For more information about registering Deals and configuring the Registered Deals listing, see About Deal Registration.

21 May - Changes to User management, Custom Fields, Partner Addresses, Partner Group Rules

New user roles and permissions

We’ve added 13 new user roles to ZiftONE Admin, to allow administrators to grant more granular visibility to the different areas of ZiftONE Admin.

Previously, only 3 ZiftONE Admin user roles existed - Administrator, Channel Account Manager, and Sales. This greatly limited the amount of flexibility administrators had in controlling permissions in ZiftONE Admin.

With the new ZiftONE Admin Roles and Permissions settings, administrators have greater control over their users' access and permissions. The users can be given access to the most relevant and necessary information in their accounts if they have the correct role.

These new roles are now available, and they have default permissions for ZiftONE Admin access:

  • Administrator
  • Executive
  • User
  • Channel Account Manager
  • CAM Director
  • Sales Operations
  • Content Manager
  • Training Manager
  • Marketing Manager
  • Portal Manager
  • IT Administrator
  • Integrator
  • Agency User
  • Distributor
  • Read Only
  • Reports Only

user_roles_1.png

The addition of these new roles and their default permissions will have no impact on existing ZiftONE Admin user visibility.

For more information about default role permissions and managing Users' roles, see Manage Users.

Help text and tooltip for Custom Fields

When creating Custom Fields to collect Partner data, you can now include help text and a tooltip for the field. This allows you to give guidance to Partners completing the field, for example when it's included in a form, and encourage them to provide the correct information.

These fields are available when creating a Custom Field:

  • Tool Tip (formerly Description)

    Plain text content

    custom_fields_tooltip.png

  • Help Text

Rich text content, which can include images and links to other content

    custom_fields_help_text.png

This is how each option will appear when the Custom Field is presented to the user in portal:

  • Help text

The help text is displayed below the field

  • Tooltip

The field displays an information icon - the text is displayed when the user hovers over the icon.

For example, this Company Profile field shows both help text and a tooltip.

For more information about working with Custom Fields, see Custom Fields.

Address geocoding for Partner Locator shown in Partner account

When a Partner is selected for a Partner Locator its addresses are converted to a set of coordinates, which allows them to be displayed with accurate map location/distance information in the Locator. The coordinates are now displayed with the addresses in the Addresses area of the Partner’s account in ZiftONE Admin.

The status of the conversion of the address is also displayed, including details of why a conversion failed.

This will give you guidance if you need to investigate why a Partner's location isn't appearing in the Partner Locator.

The information is displayed in the Lat/Long column:

partner_addresses_latlong.png

The column shows these values:

  • Coordinates, for example 51.1655632, -0.5161829 - conversion complete and successful
  • Pending - conversion not completed

The conversion process runs every 2 hours

  • Incomplete Address - insufficient detail to carry out a conversion

Country and City and either Address 1 or Zip Code are required.

  • Failed - conversion complete and unsuccessful
  • n/a - Coordinates are empty and address will not be geocoded (for example, if a partner is not selected by a Partner Locator)

For information about managing addresses for a Partner, see Manage Individual Partner Details.

Account Manager available for Partner Group Rules

Rules for Partner Groups can now be based on an Account Manager. When a Partner Group includes this value as a rule (condition), it will include Partners which have the chosen user(s) set as their Account Manager.

This is useful when building Partner Data Restrictions for a CAM user as it allows you to define a Partner Group made up only of the partners that the CAM user is entitled to see.

The Partner Profile option for a rule now includes the criterion Account Manager, where you select the user(s) who have this role.

For more information about Partner Groups and including rules/conditions when setting them up, see About Partner Groups and Examples of Partner Group Rules.

For more information about Partner Data Restrictions for users, see Manage Users.

14 May - Changes to Partner account and End Customer account management

Additional Addresses for Partner visible in Partner Explorer

If a Partner has added Additional Addresses to their portal profile, for use in the Partner Locator, you can now see them when you view the Partner’s account in ZiftONE Admin.

A new Addresses area in the Partner summary in Partner Explorer shows all addresses for the Partner:

  • Primary account address
  • Additional addresses (added by Partner)

partner_summary_addresses.png

You can view, add, edit, and delete addresses in this area. A Primary address can’t be deleted.

partner_summary_addresses_edit.png

Note: Address information is no longer available in the Profile area of the Partner account summary.

For information on managing a partner’s information in ZiftONE Admin, see Manage Individual Partner Details.

Edit of pending End Customer accounts

In Opportunities > Accounts, you can now edit the account details of pending End Customers that originate from a Partner, before the account request has been approved. You can make corrections on the fly, where previously you had to reject the account and request resubmission.

lead_accounts_pending_edit.png

Note: An account can’t be edited once synced to a CRM.

Key Benefit: The Browse Collateral feature page on the portal navigation now allows you to select the specific assets that will be displayed. This feature offers two options for asset display: Collateral Library or Customizable Multimedia. If you choose Collateral Library, you can further specify a single type of content to be shown. The portal page will then display the chosen subset of assets, and only offer the relevant filters/tags. If no option is selected, the portal will show all assets as it does today.
