Creating a Welcome Email Template

A Welcome email is sent to new partners when they register for access to your channel program. The email should include a link to the Password Reset page so they can set up their credentials for logging in to the partner portal. You can manage custom Welcome email templates in the System Messaging area of Unifyr One Admin.

Important

If you are creating a custom Welcome email, please note that this will overwrite any existing/default Welcome email, even if the custom one is only for a single partner group.

If you plan to use custom welcome emails, ensure that you create as many as you need to cover all your partner groups.

  1. Navigate to   > Settings > System Messaging.
  2. Go to the Welcome Emails tab.
  3. Click Create Welcome Email.
  4. In the Create New Welcome Email screen, provide this information as required:

    Field Description
    From

The email address from which emails from this template will be sent.

This is your verified platform email address, if you have one. If not, emails will be sent from notification@email.unifyr.com.

For more information about about authenticating/verifying your own From address, see Authenticating the From Address for Emails and Email Configuration

Name Provide a unique name for the template.
    Subject

Provide a subject line for emails generated from the template.

Keep the subject generic, so it will be suitable for all emails from this template.

    Partner Groups

[Optional] Select the Partner Group(s) that will use this template for their notifications.

Use the Advanced option to create rules for assigning the template, based on custom Partner Fields, partner user roles or partner names. For more information, see Use Ad-Hoc Partner Groups.

    Template

Customize the email body content as required. You can choose from a set of templates to help you get started.

Click Edit, then choose a template. This optional - you can select Blank to design your email from scratch.

    • Library - pre-built templates provided by BeeFree
    • Default - pre-built templates provided by Unifyr One
    • Saved - your own custom templates

If you want to use a template that already includes the link to the Password Reset page, we recommend choosing Default > Global Welcome Email.

You are taken to our WYSIWYG email builder where you can drag and drop content blocks and rows, add/edit text and images, and specify settings for this email, such as content alignment and brand colors.

To manually add a link to the Password Reset page, use the Special Links > Welcome Links > Password Reset option. You can find this in these areas, depending on whether you're adding the link to a button or to paragraph text:

    • Button - click on the button then go to the Content > Button Properties > Action > Url field in the right hand panel.
    • Paragraph text - place your cursor where you want the link to appear, then choose the Special Links drop down menu.

Both options add the merge tag {portaluser.resetlink}.

You can include merge tags to add placeholders for some core data and your custom partner user data to be autogenerated for each recipient. Click in a paragraph where you want to add the data, and choose the Merge tags option. Merge tags representing your custom Partner User fields are prefixed with Partner User -.

Note: The From (sender) email address can’t be changed here.

  5. [Optional] Click Publish to make the template active. You can also do this step later.
  6. Click Save to preserve the update, Save and Close to complete it and return to the template list, or Cancel to abandon the update.
